A team of graphene flagship partners originating from DTU, Denmark, IIT, Italy, Aalto University, Finland, UK, Belgium, Spain, Warsaw University, Poland, and Thales R&T, France, as well as collaborators in China, Korea, and the US, have come together in order to develop terahertz spectroscopy techniques, with the intent of penetrating graphene films and enabling the creation of electrical maps with them without damaging it.
Terahertz spectrology is useful because it allows researchers to assess graphene without potentially damaging it. The development of this technology will be beneficial to the production of graphene-based devices, as it will be easier to assure quality without damaging the graphene within.
