Scientists from India have recently developed a graphene oxide composite paper, which, with the help of preservatives, can be used as wrappers to extend the shelf life of fruits.

The key aspect of this discovery is that rather than constantly exposing the fruit to preservatives, as more rudimentary wrapping materials may do, which can cause Chronic Toxicity, this graphene-oxide composite wrapper only releases preservatives when it is needed, limiting the fruits exposure.
