While the two companies seem completely unrelated from each other, with one focusing on composites and the other specializing in protecting armored vehicles, they have announced their plans for future collaboration.
This partnership will work on developing new blast and ballistic protection systems using Graphene Composites’ skills in nanomaterial engineering. They plan to accomplish this by creating a material that is both lightweight and extremely durable, and has a property called “Hypersonic Shear Thickening”. This property allows the material to disperse incoming ballistics throughout it and reflect them off of it- so the greater the impact of the projectile, the greater the protection is of the armored vehicle.
Both parties are eager for the opportunity, as it will allow Graphene Composites to enhance their previously existing shield technologies, and Advanced Blast & Ballistic Systems will be able to learn how effective and versatile graphene truly is.
