2D Fab, a Swedish company, has announced a collaboration with green-tech company EcoRub. Together, they hope to develop a new type of recycled rubber and polymer.

Already working with recycled rubber materials in order to help reduce the harm these substances have on the environment, the 2D Fab and EcoRub duo plan to add graphene to them in order to enhance and improve their properties. They claim that using these materials should actually be beneficial to businesses, because it creates new opportunity for these previously waste products in addition to reducing their carbon footprint.

CEO of EcoRub Isac Andersson states that “Through this collaboration we believe that we will find new ways to improve recycled rubber products to produce new materials and products. Together, we can contribute to a strong and fossil-free industry with better resource and material utilization. This is an important step in the transition to a sustainable society, which really makes this an exciting collaboration”. 2D Fab CEO Helena Axelsson has a similar optimistic take, as her company’s expertise on the use of graphene combined with the two corporations’ similar ideologies creates the perfect opportunity to both aid businesses and the planet.
